The Scoop:
The only reason for this page is a pair of fairly unique grade crossing signals, sans crossing gates. This is former Western Maryland Rwy territory.
Train frequency here is VERY light, as I believe there is only one train a day in both direction. The line going north-south is a CSX line going from Baltimore to Hanover PA. The Maryland Midland comes in from the west to exchange cars with CSX in Glyndon, site of a Western Maryland tower back in the days.

From the Baltimore Beltway, i695, take i795 north till the end, look for the signs for 30 north and follow them (pix).
Take a left at Hanover Pike / Reisterstown RD / 30.
Travel north 6 miles / 9.66km) to Arcadia Road, and take a right, the crossing is within sight.
Unique Grade Crossing Signals
Don't know how old they are, or when the Western Maryland installed them, but they sure are different than anything else I've seen on the WM.
Looks like there was a NB signal located here too judging from the signal case next to the battery box.

According to the Kildruff's page, this is a former Western Maryland station.
There are no police precincts in this area of Baltimore County. The closest one is Precinct 3, Franklin, straight down 30 and Reisterstown Rd, down in Owings Mills.

Upperco Volunteer Fire Company is one of the "Newest" fire companies in Baltimore County, or oldest, depending on how you look at it.
Upperco VFC is a combination of the former Boring (Station 42) and Arcadia (Station 43) Volunteer Fire Companies.
The switch was done in 2017 to help combat declining membership.
