   Coxton Yard

Coxton Yard was the Wyoming Valley hub for the Lehigh Valley Railroad.  The DL&W's Bloomsburg line ran along the south end of the wye leading into Coxton Yard but was never part of the DL&W.  The Bloomsburg branch and the LV's main line crossed each other at a diamond in Pittston.  The Lehigh Valley's main line from Wilkes-Barre and mountain cutoff met at the south end of Coxton Yard.

Coxton Yard started being called Pittston Yard when it was taken over by Conrail. It is now called either Coxton, Duryea or Meuller Yard since it was taken over by the Reading & Northern in the mid 1990s.  Thanks to CZ for this information.

When I visited the area, sheesh, maybe back in 1980 or so, this yard was deader than a doornail... trees growing up thru the tracks, etc.  Glad to see it make a comeback!
