As mentioned on the Fire and Police homepage,
the headquarters is on Joppa Rd east of Towson proper, and the 911 center is
in the new courthouse building.
The BaltCo
Public Safety Building on Joppa Rd.
The
"new" Courthouse Building.
The standard issue police
car plate has a "BA" on it, along with a four digit number. Baltimore
city cars have a "BC" on them.
Cars and vehicles that are not police
cars per se, have a state issued "LG" Plates, for local government.
Unmarked cars will have any of the standard issue license plates for the
state. Although taking pictures of license plates is not illegal, I
once had a marked BaltCo police car pull me over in the middle of York Road
once after taking picture of an unmarked car. My guess, is because he
asked nicely, that the car might have belonged to an undercover cop, and
didn't want the picture "out there". Both Baltimore County and the
State Police use any form of car or truck as an unmarked police vehicle....
so remember this when you're driving in Maryland.
