Description: Prairie du Chien is a small city in west central Wisconsin, located on the Mississippi River. The double
track BNSF main runs north-south through the heart Prairie du Chien and sees about 44 trains in 24 hour time
frame. The crossing at Blackhawk Ave which is the downtown area main street offers a clean parking lot with a tiny
park and includes a picnic table across Illinois St. from the tracks.
Approximate # trains per 24 hours: 45
Nearby RR stuff: Crawford Junction N 43.01568, W 91.12971, WSOR meets the BNSF just west of the Prairie du
Chien airport. Access is by way of a dirt road west off Stuckey Rd. To my knowledge this is a public road; of course
the
diamond itself is off limits. The Depot Restaurant is
located next the BNSF tracks on St Feriole Island in a
former Burlington Depot. N 43.05243, W 91.15908
