Description:  Ogden is located in North Central Utah. It is a major railroad crossroad in the American West.
Although Amtrak no longer serves Ogden, UP freights are frequent. Traffic includes manifest freight, intermodal, and
unit trains.  UTA Front Runner regional commuter rail now serves Ogden and provides additional interest for the
railfan. Ogden Union Station, 2501 Wall Ave, (N 41.22075, W 111.97970) in Ogden has been preserved by the City of
Ogden and contains several museums, not all are railroad related but all are interesting and entertaining.  Museums
include The Utah State Railroad Museum, The Spencer S. Eccles Rail Center, The John M. Browning Firearms Museum,
Utah Cowboy and Western Heritage Museum, and the Browning-Kimball Classic Car Museum. Train Watching is great at
the Station and along Wall Street north and south of the Station, including the Utah Transportation Authority’s
Front Runner station just north, and the 24th Street (aka Martin Luther King Jr. Street) overpass. There is also an
equipment display at Union Station which includes a French “Merci” Car.
