Description: Deshler, Ohio is in north central Ohio. Deshler is called the “Crossroads of the B&O” by local railfans.
The East West CSX (Former B&O Chicago Line) double main crosses the North South CSX (former B&O Toledo Sub)
single
main. The local railfans in Deshler are well organized, and have
built a very nice, small rail park in the southwest
wye of the junction. It has gravel parking, a small picnic shelter with tables, electricity, a pop machine, fire pit, a
fairly clean porta-potty, and when locals are present there is a scanner in operation. Camping is permitted, and
electricity can be had for contributing $5.00 to the local club. On Saturday nights (at least in 2012), in good
weather, the locals often have a chicken barbecue on site and railfans are welcome if they pay a donation.
Approximate # trains per 24 hours: 75+
Nearby RR stuff: Fostoria Rail Park N 41.15250, W 83.41133

Lodging: Best Western Fostoria Inn, Fostoria, N 41.1806, W 83.4205 or in Findlay, OH at I-75, 25 miles to the
southeast.
Personal observations: Fostoria’s “Iron Triangle” is 30 Miles East on route O-18 and Deshler sees most of the same
East West trains so generally Deshler makes a worthwhile side trip from Fostoria.
