NYC station. 2019: In viewing a video on YouTube, posted Oct 2018, It appears that some of the tracks have been
removed in front of the Amtrak Station, and that the platform has been improved.
Approximate # trains per 24 hours: 40 including Amtrak’s Capitol Limited, and Lakeshore Limited
Nearby RR stuff: Across the tracks is the National New York Central Railroad Museum N 41.6807,
W 85.9695, with a fair amount of equipment on display. Elkhart is also home to the Robert Young Rail Yards, which
are the second-largest freight classification yards in the Norfolk Southern System. West of the city, that NS
classification yard N 41.6692, W 86.0090 runs parallel to Old US-33. You can park at various spots along Old US-33
(Lincoln way) and see yard movements and the main line fuel racks.
