Just south of the wye on the south side of town is a bunch of local switching opportunities if you have the time to wait. Judging from the aerial shots, most of the buildings highlighted on my map are still being serviced by rail, which in this case is Norfolk Southern. In the Mid-Atlantic area, there is becoming less and less local stuff being done by them. Take pictures while you can.....
From I-295 take the DE9, New Castle Ave exit and head north till you're on the map below. From downtown, you can either take Market Street south till you cross the Christina River, and then take a left onto A St which will take you to Christiana St where you will want to take a right, OR, you can come across the E 4th St bridge which will put you at a complex intersection with Christiana St as one of your choices.
